Fine Antique Chinese Hand-Embroidered Silk Framed Dragon Panel – Qing – Framed. The whole expertly hand-embroidered in luscious soft colors with a central Five-toed (lung) Dragon amidst stylized cloud scrolls and surmounted by a bat, in gold couched metallic thread with a stem stitch outline to define and separate the dragon’s scales to give them a relief effect; over a double wave design centered with a’Lotus’ (symbol of Devine purity) and mountains; skillfully embroidered in satin stitch, stem stitch, long and short stitch. A Phoenix bird at the top left and a Manchurian Crane at the top right, and two further Phoenix birds over the waves; an embroidered border of butterflies between florals, and a wider embroidered border of floral roundels between metallic gold cloud scrolls, in a simple black wood frame. Condition: Excellent as would be commensurate with age and use; slight separation at three corners of the frame and some very minor nicks and scratches, there may be some glare from the glass in the photos.
