This is an antique earthenware Chinese dragon pot, they were commonly used for displaying/transporting eggs. The dragon on this piece wraps around the pot and his scales are carved out of the clay, and they feel like actual scales. 17″ tall and 16.5″ across at the top. These pots are now used as a jardiniere, and this one has been previously used as a flower pot. The glaze is good but there are some places that have dulled. There is a place on the bottom edge of the pot that is chipped and some blemished areas. For a piece that is over a hundred years old and considering its rarity…….
