Antique Chinese Kesi 5-Clawed Dragon Roundel or Rank Badge. This fragile antique Chinese rank badge features a front-facing, 5-clawed dragon made of gold wrapped thread. The tiny-eyed bats are barely discernible from the clouds while the dragon’s eyes are unavoidably pronounced. The latter is due to the fact that the eye’s have been enhance with with black silk floss satin stitch embroidering. This piece has damage toward the bottom (see photo) and random loose threads.
