Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Robe Border Dragon Embroidery. The totally 10-dragon embroidery was flamboyantly and vividly designed in a symmetrical manner. Not sure if there is a silk? The embroidery used metallic threads to work on a yarn-like black fabric with five dragons at left and five at right in opposite directions. On the left side, two major dragons are located at below whereas three smaller ones in spherical shape are at above, and vice versa for the five dragons at right. The intricate designs included the firing pearls, bats, flowers, butterflies, pagodas, clouds and waves to intermingle with the dragons. The bottoms of the waves and the skirt were also designed with geometric patterns. The last photo finely shows the back of the embroidery. Measures: 59 wide x 29 high.
