This antique Chinese Art Deco Nichols or Peking rug is in fair to good condition, as shown. There is overall wear and some white knot heads showing in the central field, some minor loss to the ends, as well as wear at the edges, all as shown in the close-up photographs. The rug has a dragon (or possibly a Phoenix) as the central motif. Clouds and multi-colored mountains are depicted on the upper and lower borders. The rugs is blue, green, rust, orange, and cream. It is 100% wool, hand knotted, and measures 26 by 45. It would benefit from a cleaning, as I simply vacuumed it after I acquired it from a house outside of Philadelphia, PA, where it was in daily use.
