A very good looking and decorative pair of hand carved circa 1900 horse shoe back armchairs with a Savonarola x framed base. These two are a fine example, they look like they would have had some kind of rattan on the seat base originally due to the holes, I dont know if the timer is a later addition or if they exactly as they are supposed to be as Ive never seen another pair like this before. What I can say is the carving is very high quality, its ornate, the back splat has a very jolly looking Chinese dancer on, the arm ends are as mentioned dragons and the rest of the frame has a floral feel to it. In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished them from top to bottom, they have a lovely warm glow to them. Depth:- 52.5cm.
