For sale is this incredibly rare Chinese clay Ming Dynasty hand carved eves tile relief with the image of a dragon. This piece was carefully sculpted of a soft stone or a wet clay, and then baked in a furnace. It still showcases the original shape of part of the dragon. Please study the photos carefully so you will have a good idea of what parts are clearly visible. It was located by a team of skilled archeologists around some ancient archeological remains. It was then owned by a private Chinese Antiquities collection. I bought it from the professional archeologist, and collector himself! It is a good size (see photos). It is in pretty good condition, given that it was broken from an other piece (almost all angles show this). Please study the photos carefully to see exact condition of the item. This piece appraised at quite a bit, so don’t miss out at this wholesale priced artifact!! It is really hard to put a value on something like this! Red Yixing clay stoneware. Impressed marks in Chinese characters. Yee Dzu Ching Chefoo. No knob on the lid by design. Pewter with brass details, dragon eyes. Some damage to the inside of the lid, not visible when lid is in place. 11 cm tall 20 cm to the end of the spout and weighs just over 2 lbs. 4″ tall 7″ to the end of the spout. The dragon has 3 claw hand, and the remarkable work on the vase can only suggest it was an official piece. It has a long cover in perfect condition. Old Chinese YIXING Clay Teapot w/ Partial Pewter Covering of Dragons & Bats. From a local estate (they have collected Yixing for many years). Yixing / Zisha Red or ” Purple ” Clay Teapot. Depicting Partial Pewter / Silver color Metal Covering of Dragons & Bats. With 2 Hollow Metal Handles attached by Rings. The Lid is decorated with a Coin design & a replaced Carnelian Agate Finial. 4 Chop Marks on the base. Age unknown, likely early to mid 20th century. Not counting the handles, a pprox. 4.15″ tall” x 7.5″ long x 5.5″ wide. Just over 2 pounds total. Fair overall condition with use wear, dirt, scratches, small metal dents.
