Pair 19th C Chinese Solid Sterling Silver Dragon Vase QING Hong Kon. The listing is for a fine pair of Unusual and fine silver vases. Each having a dragon encircling body and a further dragon with movable tongue serving as support between vase and flared circular foot. HallmarkedWS (Woshing of Shanghai) and Chinese character mark. Dating 19th Century, Qing Dynasty. Good overall condition as per image. One vase bears a chip to dragons tail, tiny loss to dragons beard. The other vase bears a loss to one of dragons feet (please see last two pictures from additional gallery). 25.4cm / 10 inches tall. 12 oz / 340 gram. Antique Chinese Export Wang Hing Silver Box Dragons Hammered 1890 Hong Kong 70g
PLEASE CHECK ALL MEASUREMENTS AND IMAGES. An antique beautiful quality Chinese silver export silver box which has a cylindrical shape with embossed dragons which have exceptional detail/definition one wraps itself around the entire outside the other adorns the top which has a blank/vacant cartouche in the centre and they sit proud of the box. It is a very aesthetically pleasing design even more so with the background to the dragons being planished/hand hammered and the original push lid is a perfect fit and both parts are gilded. It is not a small box and will arrived gift boxed. Material – silver- 90 standard [900/1000]. Hallmarks/marks – WH for Wang Hing & Co-90- unidentified Chinese symbol. Measurements – 5.5cm diameter-4cm high. Weight – 70 grams. Condition – beautiful condition-no dents-holes-splits-some light surface marks to cartouch and underside-lid locates fine and removes fine-there is 1 very small patch of the inside rim that is not 100 % totally smooth but it has no impact on the functionality what so ever and was difficult to capture in the images-but nothing to worry about. Panels of hand wrought silver (900) double linked. Dragons, Immortals Sitting horse elephant and foodog, Chinese characters with engraved bamboo Detail. Buckle is bamboos leaves with plaque of Chinese characters. Signed on the hook but cannot read. Red wax residue on a few of the panels see pictures can be seen under magnification. NESE SILVER FOOTED VASE, DRAGON/TIGER. CUM WO, HONG KONG C. This well ornamented Chinese vase is marked to the underside of the base with CW and Chinese character marks. This is the mark of t. Great attention to detail. The vase dates to the late nineteenth century. This vase is of cylindrical form, supported by an unusual dragon. Stem above a plain silve. Has been ornamented using repousse and chased techniques in traditional Chinese style. The top step of the foot has a large beaded border which surrounds the base of the figural stem. The central area contains a three-dimensional traditional representation of waves, composed of disk-shaped elements. A figural dragons head surrounds the short stem, resting upon the waves below. The body of the vase depicts a tiger standing on the ground, looking up at the dragon. It is rare to find a depiction of a tiger on Chinese silver from this period. The tiger is one of the animals in the Chinese zodiac and this probably indicates that either the vase was made in the year of the tiger, which occurred in 1890 and 1902.
