Some signs of wear to the fabric as shown. A blemish on the front chest of fabric, not too visible on the velvets texture. Some thin cracks on the velvet, due to storage. Cleaning it could help, but the mesh is very delicate and needs to be taken to a trusted cleaner. There is a bit of loosening on the bottom back slit seam. Some light wear to the mesh, some where the hem stitching is. 39.5 total length. 17.3 across underarms. 17.25 across hips. 18.75 sleeve from shoulder seam. ADD ME TO YOUR. Impressive early possibly18th century Chinese cut velvet and gold metallic brocaded dragon chair cover. Inky black cut velvet that in the sunlight is very dark blue, probably indigo dye stuff. Central front facing 4 clawed dragon with flaming pearl, clouds and other Buddhist symbols with the earth and sea below, the other end with another front facing dragon. Glimmering gold metallic flat thread brocade, with scrolling tendril design on all four sides. Backed in very early silk with clouds. As found with breaks on all edges, small splits to ground scattered thruout, will need to be mounted and backed. It will arrived with acid free paper to protect and rolled carefully.
