This statue was carefully inspected before listing; it is in excellent condition. I have found no damage, or repair. This circa 1900s white Kwan-yin porcelain, made at Dehua in the Fjuian province. The special characteristic of Dehua porcelain is its very small amount of iron oxide that allows the porcelain to be fired in an oxidizing atmosphere to milk white. The Kwan-yin with four children was handcrafted with extremely detail of facial feature, lotus, sea waves, and dragon heads fish. On the lower back of statue, there are the seals of the artist. Measures approximately 21″ tall, 9¾” between its widest points, and with weight of 15 lb. Your understanding is much appreciated. As fragile item, I have carefully packed it that wrapped by bubble sheets and surrounded with packing peanuts or styrofoam in the brand new box. Lining is intact , there are a few loose threads but other than that this is in amazing condition. This measures up to 42″ across at the chest 52″across at the bottom and it is approx 26 in length. Alloy, does not test positive for gold or silver content, Kingfisher bird feathers, fabric. This brooch has a bright gilt finish but it does not test positive for silver or gold content. This piece is extremely thin, light in weight and delicate. The dragon is very detailed and colorful with light blue, dark blue, feathers with what looks like red and green fabric/material. There are feathers missing – I would say the brooch is 60% intact still. The setting doesn’t have any bending or dents, no tears to the metal work and there are no signs of solder or repair.
