Chamberlain Antiques LLC is back once again with a wonderful offering of Asian antiques and works of art. The back wall of the dish painted with a similar motif and depicting nine various dragons on a ground of underglaze blue waves. The back of the plate has a neatly written Qianlong seal and the dish is of the period. It measures just about 7 inches across (17.75cm) across and is in excellent condition with only some minor crazing to the underside. Provenance: We recently acquired two similar. Dishes directly from a wealthy New England family and has never been on the market. They were given as wedding gifts by a wealthy friend in the 1950’s and has since been in the family. One dish was of the Daoguang period and one of the Qianlong period. As can be seen in the photos the family kept the original typed letter that was with the dishes when presented as a gift. The last two photos are to show how the dishes were presented to the family along with the letter. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Inherently, these items will have some minor or light wear. Any major flaws and damages ie. Chips or cracks will be clearly disclosed in the item description.
