Fine Antique Chinese Hand-Embroidered Silk Framed Dragon Panel – Qing – Framed. The whole expertly hand-embroidered in luscious soft colors with a central Five-toed (lung) Dragon amidst stylized cloud scrolls and surmounted by a bat, in gold couched metallic thread with a stem stitch outline to define and separate the dragon’s scales to give them a relief effect; over a double wave design centered with a’Lotus’ (symbol of Devine purity) and mountains; skillfully embroidered in satin stitch, stem stitch, long and short stitch. A Phoenix bird at the top left and a Manchurian Crane at the top right, and two further Phoenix birds over the waves; an embroidered border of butterflies between florals, and a wider embroidered border of floral roundels between metallic gold cloud scrolls, in a simple black wood frame. Condition: Excellent as would be commensurate with age and use; slight separation at three corners of the frame and some very minor nicks and scratches, there may be some glare from the glass in the photos. Antique Chinese Garlic Neck Dragon Phoenix Relief Porcelain Vase Qianlong Mark

Antique Chinese Porcelain Relief Vase. This is a Chinese porcelain garlic neck vase decorated in relief with a Dragon and Phoenix in clouds, over ocean waves. Interesting features include the Dragon’s eyes which are mounted on extendable shafts. Qianlong mark on the base – in our view probably 19th Century, however I’ve never seen another like it, so it could be earlier. About 7 1/4 tall. This is the only one like it I’ve seen – it could be from the Qianlong period, however I’m going to say 19th Century to be safe. No cracks or repairs, with minor losses here and there to some of the raised edges (see pictures). The piece of paper shown it the pictures has been rolled up and stored in the vase for as long as I’ve known it. Obviously we do not want to have to deal with the hassle and expense of dealing with a return, so we are very careful to accurately represent our items, and include a large number of high resolution, larger than life photographs from every possible angle.
