Large Chinese Antique Raised Carved Dragon Chair 19th Century
An expertly hand-carved chair, the detail is never ending and of the highest standard, there are many variations of these chairs that were being made up until the 1950s but by that time, they were much simpler, without the level of detail that this chair has. This is one of the very early ones from circa 1870. This is a fully carved piece, from head to toe. It looks absolutely stunning from every angle and is actually quite comfortable to sit in. The condition is used, however, in exceptional condition and with a stunning period vintage patina. You never find these with so little wear and yet so much character. The vintage patina adds to the look and feel and structurally it is near perfect. Aside from cleaning the chair, using a touch of furniture polish, there has “not” been any restoration done on this chair “what so ever”. It is, in its entirety, exactly as it was when it was made. I’ve added a picture to show the chair just prior to being cleaned. Height: 50 Measured from the floor to the top of the back-rest. Width: 27 At its widest point. 24 Measured from the outside of armrest to armrest. Depth: 23 Measured from the front of the seat to the back-rest. ANTIQUE 20thC CHINESE SOLID SILVER DRAGON COCKTAIL SET ON TRAY c. 1910
Antique 20th Century Chinese Export solid silver cocktail set on tray, shaker of tapering cylindrical form, beautifully applied with a dragons on matted ground, extraordinary quality of workmanship. The shaker has a domed detachable upper portion fitted with a plain cylindrical push fit cover and accompanied with eight beakers in the same style, shaker bears a vacant cartooch to one side. The base is Hallmarked Chinese Export silver 90 (900+ standard), Maker’s mark (unknown to me). Retailed by Wang Hing (WH), The piece dates to the 1910’s, The tray is retailed by Zeeshun. Old Chinese Silver necklace with a large 3D pendant which make beautiful noise with movement Pendant top has an openwork panel with two dragons which is attached to a chain made of coral , turquoise and ribbed silver beads on front side back features a handmade chain necklace has no clasp and can be worn over the head. Unsigned but acid tested for silver (atleast 800 silver) Measurements : Necklace is 32 inches in wearable length x max width of 1/2 inches wide Central pendant adds 3 3/8 inches x 1 1/2 inches max width Weighs 112 grams on my weighing scale. Condition : Overall in good old condition Some metal discoloration /darkening to the metal The thread near the pendant is bit stretched out but it hold the pendant nice and tightly Few holes to the coral beads , looks original to the beads. Rare and fine antique Asian porcelain – Chinese C’hing Dynasty era – rectangular footed jardiniere or planter, all sides have iron red orange painted dragons, blue clouds and green sea on white back ground. The bottom has painted red square character or seal mark. It dates to the 19 century and is in fine condition- minor glaze loss abrasion inner top rim and age / use wear / kiln marks to feet.
