Carved Hardwood Plant Stand. This great hefty large size stand is heavily and profusely carved. The apron is pierce carved with a leaf and fruit design. The four carved legs stand out with deeply incised. Design at the knees with paw feet. The taboret is all mortise and tenon construction. Rouge marble top is inset in a smooth scalloped wooden frame with lovely carved beading on the edge. The table is braced on the top with stretchers connecting the legs and decorative stretchers further down the legs to support the heavy hardwood carving and marble top. Overall Top Surface 18-1/2wide. Carving of leg extend beyond the edge of the table top. Marble Insert 13-1/2 wide. No damage to the extensive carving. He finish is bright and polished. Rouge marble has no cracks. There is an expert old restoration low part of one leg, does not effect stability, and only seen when closely inspected. Lovingly cared for in a well kept home.
