This 7 3/4″ x 4″ antique Chinese bowl with wooden stand is impeccable. The gorgeous enameling / cloisonne features the IMPERIAL DRAGON with 5 toes / claws. There are (2) dragons on the inside amongst the cloud background scrambling for the fireball. In the center is the flower against a turquoise ground. The outside of the bowl has the same theme. A beautiful rare antique Chinese export silver card case. It is hallmarked with a Chinese character, the 85 standard mark, and makers mark HO, I would date this piece to c1890. It has been superbly made being embossed with a dragon on one side bamboo on the other. It is in superb condition being free from splits holes and repairs, the lid fits tightly, the are initials to the cartouche. Beautiful Vintage Chinese Embroidered Dragons Waves Black Robe Jacket

This might be something more like a piece of art you hang from a rod in your living room than something to wear. But you could surely make an entrance for a night at the opera! It’s a black silk and rayon Chinese robe with dragons all over it. At the bottom are the classic waves and over the body of the robe are 4 toed dragons chasing the flaming pearl. The measurement underarm to underarm is 25 inches. From sleeve end to sleeve end is 58 inches. From shoulder to hem is 40 inches. This is actually quite wearable. The sleeves are 3/4 length and I would guess the size at somewhere around a medium to large ladies. I apologize for the quality of some of the pictures. The snow was reflecting back on this and creating shadows. The black silk background fabric is entirely black and not faded in any way. The colors on this are very vibrant. Beautiful Old Chinese Cloisonne Dragon & Flaming Pearl Bowl Fine Antique Stand

The background is black enamel with clouds created by cloisonne wires and the focal point of the design is a large dragon inside the bowl. The dragon looks fierce with teeth showing, a long swirling body and four feet with five toes each surrounding the flaming pearl. There are green waves of water under the dragon. On the sides of the bowl, there are two dragons face to face chasing a flaming pearl. There are green waves of water in cloisonne around the base of the bowl. The metal on the rim and base of the bowl appears to be brass. The bottom is finished in blue enamel with cloisonne clouds. The vase is unmarked as is common with cloisonne of this age. The stand is marked “CHINA” on the bottom. The stand is highly desirable and lovely addition to a collection. The stand is in excellent antique condition with no repairs, missing parts, cracks or noticeable damage. There are some surface scratches, dents and rubs on the stand from expected usage. Dragons are admired in Chinese culture but thought to be a little greedy. They are often depicted in Chinese art as chasing a flaming pearl. They never catch it! Dragons are a favorite subject in antique Chinese cloisonne and highly sought by collectors. These dragon bowls are very popular with collectors and require great skill to create. The bowl in excellent antique condition with no damage and no repairs. There are no dents or bruises. There are no stains inside the bowl. There is no haze from liquids being used inside the bowl. There is very minor pitting as is common in antique cloisonne. There may be tiny flecks of enamel loss also common in antique cloisonne. There may be tiny surface scratches due to age. There is slight tarnishing and tiny spots on the brass rims at the top and bottom of the bowl. Weight: 24.7 oz. Diameter across: 7 3/4. Diameter of opening: 6 1/8. Diameter of base: 5. Weight: 217.5 grams. Area for display: 5 1/4 on top surface. These wonderful old Chinese cloisonné dragon bowls are becoming more difficult to find without any damage. A Beautiful Pair Of Chinese Cloisonne Vases Of Dragons Chasing The Flaming Pearl

Here is a very nice pair of old matching cloisonne dragon vases. They each depict a pair of dragons chasing but never catching the ever elusive flaming pearl. They are loaded with character and fine details that only better specimens would display as the pictures show. Each is incised on the base CHINA as the pictures show. They sit upon matching pierced carved dark wood stands which are not original to them, but do fit nicely and show them off well. The vases weigh in at a heavy 26 oz. Combined (736 grams for you metric people) and the stands add another 3 oz. The vases themselves stand at just under 6 1/2 and the wood stands add another inch or so to that. Although the vases may look crooked in the pictures, they are not. They sit solid and stand straight. In some pics the camera bends them somehow. Any white spots are just the the reflections from the lights used to photograph with. The vases are in overall very good condition considering their age of approximately 100 +/- years. There are a couple of very small flaws on one vase, nearly invisible and won’t show on pictures. You can’t feel them with your hands and you can’t see them without looking very, very hard but they are there. On this vase there is a small bit of damage on the neck under the lotus bloom at 5 o’clock right where the leaf plume meets the scrolls. (see picture 10) I caught the light right on it so you could see it. It’s easy to miss but worth mentioning. The second vase is good except for the dent on the dragon’s body on the right hand side. You can see it with the light on it (picture 11) and without, pointed to by the pen. The enamel is still intact which helps hide it unless the light hits it just right. The area affected is about 3/8 in diameter. The damaged area is also shown in full view (picture 2) on the left vase, dragon’s body close to the top of the’arch’. Again, for their age, these vases are in very good condition and are of superior quality in my opinion. On a scale of 1-10 condition wise, I give them a 9. The vintage wood stands are in good condition for their age, no real condition issues to note. I have tried very hard to take excellent pictures and describe very well the vases above. They are not perfect but they are old, very finely made and not often seen as nice as these are.
