Gorgeous Antique Black Silk Embroidery Chinese Robe Dragons Bats Flaming Pearls. I know enough to know that this is a very nice robe. The embroidery is done with a metal thread that has tarnished. Leads me to think the thread is silver because of the color of the tarnishing but I could be wrong and will leave that to an expert. Black silk inside and out. The only issue I can find anywhere are two small holes in the lining near the neck. All of the embroidery is done in metal threads in a couching technique. There are dragons, waves, flaming pearls, bats, clouds and other Buddhist symbols embroidered on it. I took photos outdoors and there is some glare on the lens. The black silk fabric is absolutely even in color and solid black with no variation like it might appear in some of the photos. The first two photos are a better representative of the color since the sun was at my back. It’s in beautiful condition. Measures 50 inches from the end of one sleeve to the end of the other, 23 inches underarm to underarm and 40 inches from shoulder to bottom. Please ask questions before purchasing as this item is not returnable. This coat is in excellent condition. But with all the embroidery involved I’m sure you might find a loose thread or two. This is a Gorgeous Antique Chinese Silk Kesi Yellow Dragon Robe. The details is extremely well made with many fine dragons woven using the intense kesi weave. Kesi or Kossu is a very unique weave that takes months to years to produce a single robe. The style of the robe shows ming dragons with many lovely colors. The size of the robe is….. The condition of the robe is excellent with no major damages or any issues. It does have some small tears but nothing major. It is common to have small tears due to kesi being very fragile. GORGEOUS ANTIQUE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN DRAGON BOWL KANGXI PERIOD

Chamberlain Antiques LLC is back once again with a wonderful offering of Asian antiques and works of art. This week we will be offering a large array of porcelain, bronze, jade, silver, and other works of art. There are many museum quality examples included, so be sure to check the other listings. 99 with no reserve with lots closing on September 21st. The bowl is hand painted around the exterior with three dragons flying amongst meandering vines above a ring of ruyi. The interior painted with a central roundel containing a single dragon. The underglaze blue art work if fine quality with crisp lines and of a vibrant cobalt blue color. It stands on a tall thin foot and was part of the impressive collection of James E. Breece III which was extensively displayed in many institutions and museums across the country. The bowl measures 6.2 inches (15.75cm) across and stands 2.75 inches (7cm) tall. Condition is excellent with only one small nip on the outside of the foot. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Inherently, these items will have some minor or light wear.
