Beautiful Old Chinese Cloisonne Dragon & Flaming Pearl Bowl Fine Antique Stand

The background is black enamel with clouds created by cloisonne wires and the focal point of the design is a large dragon inside the bowl. The dragon looks fierce with teeth showing, a long swirling body and four feet with five toes each surrounding the flaming pearl. There are green waves of water under the dragon. On the sides of the bowl, there are two dragons face to face chasing a flaming pearl. There are green waves of water in cloisonne around the base of the bowl. The metal on the rim and base of the bowl appears to be brass. The bottom is finished in blue enamel with cloisonne clouds. The vase is unmarked as is common with cloisonne of this age. The stand is marked “CHINA” on the bottom. The stand is highly desirable and lovely addition to a collection. The stand is in excellent antique condition with no repairs, missing parts, cracks or noticeable damage. There are some surface scratches, dents and rubs on the stand from expected usage. Dragons are admired in Chinese culture but thought to be a little greedy. They are often depicted in Chinese art as chasing a flaming pearl. They never catch it! Dragons are a favorite subject in antique Chinese cloisonne and highly sought by collectors. These dragon bowls are very popular with collectors and require great skill to create. The bowl in excellent antique condition with no damage and no repairs. There are no dents or bruises. There are no stains inside the bowl. There is no haze from liquids being used inside the bowl. There is very minor pitting as is common in antique cloisonne. There may be tiny flecks of enamel loss also common in antique cloisonne. There may be tiny surface scratches due to age. There is slight tarnishing and tiny spots on the brass rims at the top and bottom of the bowl. Weight: 24.7 oz. Diameter across: 7 3/4. Diameter of opening: 6 1/8. Diameter of base: 5. Weight: 217.5 grams. Area for display: 5 1/4 on top surface. These wonderful old Chinese cloisonné dragon bowls are becoming more difficult to find without any damage. 19th C. CHINESE BLUE & WHITE 12.5 SIGNED DRAGON VASE with FLAMING PEARLS, c. 1850

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a stunning antique Chinese blue and white globular shaped 12 1/2 tall vase, c. The central design features a large five-toed dragon chasing a “flaming” pearl. Design encompasses the entire body of the vase and the under glaze blue has an attractive inky cobalt coloration, applied in a darker and lighter wash to create two distinct tones of color. The background color has a pale celadon tone rather than being true white. The neck is banded with a 1 3/4 wave design with a blue line encircling above and below. The dragon’s long body is decorated with hundreds of individual scales with intricate details in the enameling. Around the bottom of the vase is a beautiful stylistic foaming seascape floor. Measures 12 1/2″ high with a top diameter of 2 1/2″, maximum width of about 8 1/2″ with the base measuring 4 3/4″ in diameter. The vase has a globular shape formed with a long neck with shoulder area sloping gradually to a bulbous shaped body supported by a flat foot rim. This fabulous vase has a raised unglazed bottom rim with glazed recessed base marked with a six calligraphy mark. We are unfamiliar with the mark, however, it is clearly applied in under glaze blue enamel and we believe the vase dates to the 1850 period. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. We find no flaws at all on this stunning vase. We are not experts in Asian antiques so we can not authenticate the date of this vase for certainty, however, we do believe it to be mid-19th Century. Antique or Vintage 9 Chinese Cloisonne Pair Vases Imperial Dragon Flaming Pearl

This pair of early 20th century cloisonne vases is not from the Grandma Tran collection. I remember my mom spending a lot of time hunting them down and agreeing on a price from the person she bought them from! They are very similar in design with an Imperial five clawed dragon and the flaming pearl on each vase. The two dragons are opposite each other so they can face towards each other or away from each other. There is extensive damage/repair to both vases. The vase pictured on the right in the main picture has three areas of significant repair. Two are on the sides and one is on the base. The vase on the left has two areas, one on the side and one on the base. The color matching is pretty good. In place of the wires, gold paint has replaced the wires in the repaired spots. Please study the photos carefully. I can send more upon request. There is also an un-repaired small ding on one of the vases. The upper and lower rims of the vase on the left in the main picture are bent. In spite of all these flaws, these vases make a strong impression and appear to be much older than they actually are. Based upon what I have learned they are likely from the early part of the 20th century, made in China for export. The cylindrical shape of the vase body is different from most of the curved vases for sale. Thank you for supporting Catholic Charities! Chinese Porcelain Turquoise Glaze Vase Phoenix Dragon Chasing Flaming Pearl Qing

Antique Chinese porcelain vase decorated with a beautiful Turquoise crackle monochrome glaze, together with its wood stand. The main body is modelled in relief with a phoenix and dragon chasing a flaming pearl. The mid section has a Chinese symbol at the centre of 5 bats. This vase was made in the Qing Dynasty or earlier. This vase came to us as a lamp. It appears to have been converted into a lamp in the 1930’s. We removed the lamp parts. It will cost more to include the lamp parts, as the package will need to be larger. The vase is just under 13 inches tall, or about 32.7 cm tall (without the wood stand). It weighs about 2.377 kg (without the wood stand). Both the vase and base have been drilled at the base (to make them into a lamp). The vase also has a chip on the outside edge of its foot rim, which has been filled and poorly coloured. Otherwise the vase is fine, no other chips, cracks or repairs. Track Page Views With.
