Wonderful antique mid-19th century Chinese silk brocade panel of dragon robe. The dragons are finely made and very well detailed surrounded by clouds. The condition for its age is good. The center has slight fading (look finger point) and there is signs of ware on the silk. Please look at the pictures for better view of condition. The silk panel measures app. 27 inches x 53 inches long. Please carefully look over the photos and dont hesitate to ask if you have question. Antique Chinese yellow silk Imperial robe fragment 5 toe dragon sacrificial cups
Antique Chinese textile, a fragment of an Imperial robe with 5 claw dragons and sacrificial cups, longpao, hand embroidered silk and couching of gold metal threads on yellow silk, notes of interest are: the foliate claws, the amount of space devoted to rolling water with auspicious symbols and deep water designs, the mountains are drawn and executed in a very unusual way that I can not find another example of, hand woven in China 19thC, stylistically, it would fall into the first half of the 19thC, soiling, loose and abraded threads, color fading, the approximate size at the widest areas is 25 inches x 26.5 inches, #JR-02. ANTIQUE CHINESE MING DYNASTY TEXTILE FRAGMENT WITH DRAGON
Chamberlain Antiques LLC is back once again with a wonderful offering of Asian antiques and works of art. This week we will be offering a large array of porcelain, bronze, jade, silver, and other works of art. There are many museum quality examples included, so be sure to check the other listings. 99 with no reserve with lots closing on September 21st. This listing is for a nice and large Chinese textile fragment dating to the Ming Dynasty. The fragment depicts a large dragon in the center surrounded by clouds with crashing waves below. It is large in size measuring 37.5 x 23.5 inches (95x60cm). As can be seen in the photos there is a significant amount of wear and loss to the embroidery of the dragon. It has been tacked down to board from when frame prior and is quite brittle. Still a nice and hard to find example of Ming dynasty textile. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Inherently, these items will have some minor or light wear. Any major flaws and damages ie.
