A Lovely Chinese Temple Bell hung in a carved wood frame. The wood frame is carved with a dragon on each side with glass eyes and a pagoda at the top. The bell also has dragon decoration. This does not have a gong. In good condition with no damage or cracks to the wood. Frame H41cm L24cm D5.5cm (at base). Bell H15.5cm Dia11cm (max).

Antique Hand Carved & Lacquered Chinese or Tibetan Dragons w/ Wood Frame. Up for sale is this wood panel with lacquer paint of a pair of Chinese or more likely Tibetan dragons, dated unsure if in the 19. The panel is in a rectangular shape and further wood framed. The Tibetan dragons facing each other are hand painted with lacquer in relief, displaying shiny red, orange and green colors. Part of the long bodies of the dragons are hidden behind two carved unique signs with flower motifs as decoration, suggesting that they may stand for forests. A unique sign in between the two dragons may stand for mountains and trees to have clouds at the lower sides. The corners of the upper edges of the wood frame show the dovetails, revealing a good craftsmanship. No specific colors are found to the lower edges of the frame (not shown). The artwork can either be wall hanged or rested on a table. Is often made from resin extracted from trees and has been in use for decoration in painting since antiquity. It is a shiny and glossy coating or finish when applied to wood or metal. Tibetan dragon, also called Druk, is the Thunder dragon of Tibetan and Bhutanese mythology. It is with a long thin body and closely related to the Chinese Lung. The Tibetan dragon is part of Tibetan life and culture, indispensable as cultural consciousness and identity in Tibet. Like Chinese Lung, the Tibetan dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, typhoons, and floods, as stated in Wikipedia. Dimensions, 24 ½” wide x 11″ high x 2 ½ deep; Weight, 4 lbs & 14.8 oz (2.23 kg). Condition: Good and clean, with mild lacquer paint and wood chip loss, consistent with age and use without hurting its beauty. This item comes from an estate liquidation. The item is Chinese in origin. The carved frame is made of wood with an intricate carved decoration (see photos). The gong portion is in a bell shape with a dragon cast as decoration (see photos). The gong includes the mallet shown in the photos. The item measures in total about 14 inches high and it is about 7.75 inches wide. The gong portion is made of cast brass. The gong portion measures about 6 inches high and it is about 4.75 inches wide. The wooden frame has some age cracks, splits and repairs to the wood with wear from age and use (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item). A fabulous antique Chinese Ming/Qing dynasty yellow glaze earthenware dragon roof tile in bespoke carved hard wood frame. Made for the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing dynasties, this beautiful antique yellow glazed earthenware roof tile shows a majestic dragon chasing a flaming pearl, the tile has been framed in a 19th century deeply carved hard wood frame with bamboo decorations which encapsulates the entire tile. The tile measures approximately 7 1/4 inches across, with frame about 8 7/8 inches across. The tile is in very good condition with overall wear including a small areas of glaze flaking and a tiny chip. The frame is in excellent condition with overall general wear.
