Antique Chinese Ming Dynasty Silk Brocade Gold Eight Dragons Imperial Nobility. Long Banner Dragon Chasing Pearl Woven Silk. This piece came from an Anthropologist in the USA that collected world textiles. This is a long banner 90 inches long x 11 inches wide. It is made from finely woven silk, a Damask silk brocade. It has been sewn together in eight pieces to make one. It depicts eight, four clawed dragons chasing the flaming pearl in the sky with clouds, and the land from the sea uprising. It has a dark navy blue background, with gold thread for the dragons, and multi colours. Expensive fabrics like this one was only for the Imperial Court and Nobility.
