Rare Antique Chinese Silver & Enamel Dragon Bracelet. Six panel with Dragon facing Sun entirely filigree and translucent with bright colors on dragon & sun in red, yellow, blue, violet, pink ++. Each Section has a multi-colored dragon with body of dragon raised on the panel. Clasp is silver metal slide that snaps into place. Measures 7 to 7-1/4″ length, 3 1/8″ wide and weight 117.8 grams. Clasp panel has RUNGSILVER & upside down “China” markings. The Dragon is sometimes associated with fear or danger in the West. However, in the East, the dragon is good natured and a symbol of male energy, fertility along with being the highest ranking animal in China. The six dragons means happiness and blessings. The Dragon is meant to be awe inspiring since the represent to collective forces of nature. All of these symbols combined suggest that this piece is early 20th century Silverwork was a wedding gift from a husband hoping for many sons. Please review the photos and feel free to ask questions.
