The plaque is carved from a single piece of rare yellow nephrite jade with russet veining. The carving features a sinuous horned dragon that curls around it’s own body with its tail forming the head of another dragon. The level of carving and polishing is exquisite given the small scale, a level of quality that has become synonymous with jade work from the Qianlong Period. The color of the jade may vary according to your computer monitor settings. The stone is of a faint yellow hue with russet splashes and russet veining (natural fissures). The veins/fissures on this piece are natural to the jade and were present before the jade was carved. The piece has been inspected very closely, is in very good overall condition for its age (see images), and has no damage. The plaque measures approximately 5.5 cm tall.
