This early antique Chinese carved celadon & russet jade temple lion or dog of foe measures 50mm (2″) high x 44mm (1.75″) and weighs 88 grams. It dates to the 17th century and quite probably considerably earlier and is beautifully carved using the natural impurities in the stone with great skill, and it is in good antique condition. This is a large vase, measuring approx. 13″ tall by 7 1/4″ in diameter. It appears to be made of bronze with the cloisonne enamels. The cloisonne work is very fine with feathers, chrysanthemums, dragons, peonies, plum blossoms, and scroll work. The shape is lobed, each section featuring a different flower with dragons alternating, and the colors are vibrant and clear. I would say that it’s in excellent condition- I have examined the piece carefully and do not find any damage either by sight or by feeling it with my fingers. The free listing tool.
