A stunning vase with classic Chinese imagery from the Qing Dynasty. The form is a very nice tall bottle shape that is enameled in grisaille with a five-clawed dragon chasing a flaming pearl against a yellow ground. The yellow has a nice rainbow shimmer when viewed from an angle under natural light – indicative of period Qing yellow glazes. The base is glazed in the same yellow as the body and is unmarked. The footrim reveals a very fine white paste. The interior of the vase retains a natural build-up of accumulated dust that takes many decades years to achieve. There are no cracks, but the neck has been reduced and there is associated wear around the mouth rim – please see images. Please let us know if there are any questions.
