We are pleased to offer a fine antique Imperial Chinese blue and gold silk brocade kesi dragon robe, made in the late Qing Dynasty, 19th century. Dimensions: Length: 49″, Bottom Width: 43″, Width across shoulders (cuff to cuff): 66. Magnificent Imperial blue ground dragon robe made for the Emperor or member of the Imperial family. Featuring nine gold Imperial five clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl among clouds, and interspersed with the eight “Auspicious Symbols” , along with colorful bats, cranes, and shou medallions, above a gold swirling wave border. The black ground collar and horse shoe cuffs also with gold five claw dragons, Buddhist symbols and gold wave border. The round buttons are solid (low grade) gold. Acquired from an estate collection and offered in excellent overall condition with a small section of loose gold threads along shoulder fold line, and a small losses on the small collar at the shoulder fold line, and missing one gold ball button.
