This week Chamberlain Antiques is pleased to offer over 200 lots of fine Asian antiques and works of art. Included in the sale is a old private collection of Chinese and Japanese cloisonne, a private collection of snuff bottles collected by a diplomat who worked in China in the 1930’s, as well as many other interesting examples of porcelain, bronze, and jade. This listing is for a large and fine Chinese cloisonne vase dating to the 17th century, Ming Dynasty. The vase is made in hu form and decorated around the exterior with alternating designs of dragons and phoenix. The foot adorned with mythical creatures on a ring of waves accenting the foot. The underside is marked with a Jingtai mark and there are mask handles applied to the shoulder which most likely originally held rings. The vase stands 14.25 inches tall and is in very good condition with only light wear. There are no dents or damages to the enamel work. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Inherently, these items will have some minor or light wear. Any major flaws and damages ie.
