FOR THE ADVANCED COLLECTOR Item: AN AUTHENTIC VERY RARE ANTIQUE 19TH C CHINESE CLOISONNÉ REVOLVING DRAGON VASE Creation Date: Late Qing dynasty, circa 19th century Description: FROM AN AUTHENTIC CAUCASIAN AMERICAN ANTIQUE ESTATE COLLECTION! We are offering a VERY RARE and VERY FINELY CRAFTED AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE Chinese cloisonné revolving vase, circa 19th century/late Qing dynasty. The central section is bulbous with four repoussé open-worked, reticulated panels. Each panel is depicted with a five-clawed dragon, facing forward amidst cloud scrolls. The formal, tuxedo-black ground is perfectly and finely decorated with a formal pattern of stylized lotus and acanthus leaf scrolls. The long, slender neck, with its internal cylinder, and the base section have been cast separately and decorated with champlevé and cloisonné designs of stylized flowers and lappets. The internal cylinder is also finely decorated with stylized lotus, peonies and scroll work all on a gorgeous and perfect turquoise ground. The base retains the original and rich gold gilt and is unmarked. Condition: Please be aware that there is a small bit of very old damage to one of the round, copper-type metal rondel plaques. (please see pictures) Otherwise, the vase is in very excellent condition with no damage at all to the cloisonné enamel. The round, copper-type metal rondel parts can also be re-gilded to bring them back and match the original bright, yellow-gilt condition as is still seen on the base of the vase. Re-gilding is also very cheap and not at all difficult to do. Restoration would be well worth the final value of the vase, which is more than double the price of what we are asking. Size: Approximately 13 in (33 cm) high. Key Words: Chinese cloisonné enamel, Qing dynasty, Chinese cloisonne, Chinese champlevé, champleve, Chinese dragon, Imperial Chinese Dragon.
