Large Qing Porcelain Famille Verte Jardiniere. Listing is for a lovely and large antique Chinese porcelain Jardiniere. It is very finely decorated in famille rose enamels on a green enamel ground, with five mythical Chinese creatures, a dragon, a foo lion, a qilin, and two phoenix birds with beautiful long tails. It was made in the late Qing Dynasty (late 1800’s to very early 1900’s). It is about 18 inches wide (45.7 cm) and about 14 1/4 inches tall (36.2 cm). It weighs about 30 pounds (13.6kg). In terms of condition, the base has been damaged and restuck unprofessionally. Given its quality, this is an excellent candidate for professional restoration of the affected area (luckily the damage is largely confined to the base). This would be a very expensive piece if it were in perfect condition.
