Antique Vintage Carved Thimble Spool Case Japanese Chinese Dragon Figural Scenic. Interesting case which could have been carved and shaped to hold sewing items or some other small treasures. There is wonderful dragon carved into the case and the bottom portion of the piece is undamaged. There is damage to the top. The edges of the top are chipped off so that it doesn’t sit nicely into the bottom part of the case although I’ve managed to balance it for the photos and as you can see it still makes a nice display. There are threads at the top which might indicate that there was an additional piece but perhaps not. I’m not sure what this was made for so if someone does know any input would be appreciated. In any case it’s lovely and the work is beautifully done. Measures about 4.5 inches 12 cm. High from top to bottom with lid on. Bottom portion is just under 1.5 inches 3.5 cm.
