Vintage original pair of Chinese porcelain vases of uncertain age but believed to date from the 20th Century. Each vase has a dragon in low relief entwined around the main body. The background decoration is in the form of scales picked out in blue against the off-white colour of the porcelain which are believed to represent the sea. The neck is decorated with waves, again picked out in blue. The base of each vase has an impressed mark. Size: 25 cm height x 11 cm (max) diameter. CHINESE EXPORT SILVER BOWL & LADLE c1890 LUEN HING, SHANGHAI. A beautifully hand crafted late 19th century Chinese export silver dragon bowl. And matching dragon handle shell form ladle. This matching set from the Shanghai work shop of Luen Hing. In unique raised octagonal petal fluted shape. Each panel with a unique hand carved displays, lone butterfly in garden, royal. Chrysanthemums, peony, wisteria, water lily and dragon. Each scene with stippled background. Raised shield never monogrammed. Atop four well cast full body dragon handles-feet. The matching ladle with dragon head finial atop bamboo handle. Ending in scallop shell bowl. This c1890 Chinese export dragon bowl is 4 1/2 inches and the matching. Dragon head shell ladle is 5 inches. And the complete set weighs a bit over 8 standard ounces. In very fine condition. The set appears little, if ever used. The entire set retains original detail. RARE PAIR OF ANTIQUE DECALCOMANIA GINGER JARS. Chinoiserie decoration featuring Chinese dragons or phoenixes, courtiers, noblemen or empresses, and warriors or horsemen. Probably English or American late 19th or early 20th century. These present beautifully and look very handsome on a fireplace mantel, console table or wall brackets. Approximately 13 inches tall. Orange-red, black, gold, green white. Interior paint flaking, which can be restored but does not detract from the overall appearance in my opinion (the pattern is so elaborate that the interior losses are hardly visible from the exterior). Reverse painted with applied decoration using the decalcomania or decoupage technique. Signed underneath one lid as pictured. Decalcomania from the French word décalcomanie is a decorative technique – invented in Europe in the 18th century and imported to the US in the 19th century – by which engravings and prints or decals are transferred to glass or pottery. 20th C. Republic Period Chinese Silk Embroidered Dragon Theater/Opera Robe

Description : We are pleased to offer this 20. Century, Republic Period, Chinese, silk, embroidered, Dragon, theater [Chinese opera] costume/robe. Inventive, gaudy and purposely exaggerated to be visible from a distance, such robes were often embellished via bold colors, large symbols/imagery, and mirrored accents, crafted from sturdy materials including a cotton/bast lining with padding, and to fit loosely so that performers could change quickly. Our robe is quite ornate and flamboyant, and is reminiscent of classic dress. Rendered upon bold red satin silk, it is lavishly decorated with eight, dimensional, 4-clawed Dragons (three on the front; five on the reverse) chasing flaming pearls among whimsical cumulus clouds, auspicious bats, and above crashing waves and mountains within the lower registers and along the edges of the sleeve bands. Couched, gold metallic thread, with couched, silver metallic accents, has been prominently used throughout and has been embellished not only with bright, vividly-hued, lightly spun silk thread, but with polychrome, couched, silk cording. Bright, green, silk side panels provide added aesthetics to the front of the robe and have been flanked with gorgeous, flying birds (most likely Silver Pheasants), wispy cumulus clouds, bold sun disks, as well as lotus blossoms and auspicious Hsi characters (signifying joy). Decorative, Chinese characters adorn the collar. As with other theater/opera costume robes, ours has a natural-hued, cotton/bast fiber lining that is padded. This theater/opera robe would be a show-stopper as a decorators piece, focal point of a large room, or within anyones collection, serious or novice alike. BIG Chinese Green & White JADEITE Jade Pendant w/ Dragon & Phoenix. Out of a Local Estate. This is a Carved Mottled Opaque Green & White Jadeite Double Sided Pendant. Depicting a Celestial Dragon & Phoenix among Ruyi, Rocks & Clouds. There is also a 10mm Carved Jadeite Bead in the Bale. Mounted with a simple 10K (or Lower Karat) Yellow Gold Thick Wire Bale. (The Gold tests as 10K but tests very weak, it may be a lower Karat Gold) Age unknown, likely Vintage to Modern. Total weight of approx. 1.9″ (48.5mm) x 1.675″ (42.5mm) x. Total Pendant length of 2.8 Good condition with minor wear & several visible inclusions / surface cracks. I do not know what grade of Jadeite this is or if it has been treated.
