CHINESE EXPORT SILVER DRAGON & ELEPHANT BOWLS (2) c1890 SIGNED. A very fine pair of late 19th century Chinese export silver three dragon & and second. With three elephant salt bowls. The dragon salt in raised circular or cauldron form with Greek key border. Detail and hand carved leaf and floral on satin below. Atop three, well cast standing Chinese dragon handles-feet. The second in similar shape, decorated with scenes martial arts training. Figures at gaming table, and elder in garden. Atop rarely seen cast elephant head and trunk feet. This c1890 Chinese export silver dragon salt are 2 1/2 inches across dragons. And 1 3/4 inches across rim, the elephant salt bowl is. Slightly smaller, and set weighs a bit over 3 standard ounces. The dragon example with set of four Chinese character hallmarks as shown. The elephant example with rubbed character mark. In very fine condition. Rich silver patina throughout.
