Rare 19th C Chinese Qing Dynasty Imperial Child’s Dragon Robe
A fine and rare 19th c. Chinese embroidered silk and gold thread child’s robe. The traditional robe is embroidered with 8 large flying dragons. The collar and front flap edge are embroidered with a band of additional dragons in gold. The ground of the robe is in a brown silk and is embroidered with various attributes in colorful silk. The base of the robe is decorated with a band of alternating colors of blue, pink, red, green, and yellow. The inside of the robe is finished in a light blue silk. Condition is very fine with no losses or repairs. It dates from mid to third quarter of the 19th c. And descended in a prominent Princeton, NJ family from the 19th c.
