ANTIQUE 19th c QI’ING DYNASTY CHINESE EMBROIDERED GAUZE SEMI- FORMAL JI’IFU DRAGON ROBE! On a blue gauze material finely embroidered 9 5- clawed dragons (the front and the back of the robe), surrounded with bats, clouds in ruyi shape, Shou signs, flaming wheels, flowers, and other Buddhist suspicious symbols. All above lishui border with rolling waves. Extremely finely worked piece- just look at the pictures! The robe measures 56 (142.2 cm) long. Condition: GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION overall with not much damages aside 2 slits on the shoulders and 1 small hole on a sleeve (see pictures, all shown). A beautiful wall hanging in the form of a half sized mask. Sumptuously hand carved in exquisite detail and with a lovely polished finish. Inlaid bone to the eyes and the teeth of the small dragons to his headdress. Note just one missing tooth to these little dragons- otherwise excellent all over condition with no chipping or cracks. This is an exceptional Chinese bronze antique Ming Dynasty vase. I was told by Christie’s that it is from 1400 to 1600 AD. It has some damage from use from age and but overall is a beautiful and very rare piece. We have not cleaned it at all as we did not want to do more harm than good and affect the patina. It measures 11 1/8″ in overall height x 5 1/4″ wide at widest point not including handles.
