We are very excited this week to be featuring our first offering of items from the Important estate collection of the late Michael Vermeer. Vermeer is literally a famous figure when it comes to Chinese ceramics starting his career in the late 1960s in his early 20s. With close to 50 years experience Mr. Vermeer was thought by many to be one of the worlds top Chinese ceramic experts and authorities. Celadon, Monochrome, and Flambe wares were Mr. Vermeers passion and over the years Mr. This is session one featuring some incredible and rarely found examples from the Vermeers collection. I believe this is one of our finest sales to date. I do wish everyone the very best of luck winning the auctions! This inkstone is a unique example that is finely carved throughout. This inkstone is from the important Abraham estate collection that has been packed away in storage since the shop closed in 1977. The inkstone has a great design with dragon among clouds. The inkstone has carved writing to the back side. The inkstone is in need of a very good cleaning, but we like to leave everything estate fresh as we find it. The inkstone is otherwise in good condition. The inkstone measures 7 5/8 inches long, by 5 inches wide, and 1 inch thick. BEST OF LUCK WITH THE AUCTIONS! ANTIQUE 18th 19thc CHINESE VASE JAR BLUE & WHITE KANGXI PORCELAIN VASE DRAGON
A highly decorative Chinese blue and white porcelain temple jar and cover, decorated with dragons, flowers and leaves. I can confirm that the base jar/vase is in good antique condition. The lid which has a modelled Dog of Fo to the top has been professionally restored in the past and as you can see this has discoloured over the years. There are also chips and fritting to the edge of the lid. The base of the vase has the Kangxi four character mark. It stands just under 11 inches high (including the lid). This is a beautiful piece of 19th century Chinese fine embroidery on silk, worked in beautiful colours depicting a delicate dragon, phoenix, bats, roses and more. I was once part of a larger textile. It measures about 12″ by 10″ or 30.5 cms by 25 cms. The overall condition is good, minor wear with a few marks and a machine hem across the top. Thank you for looking. A fine 19th century Chinese porcelain snuff bottle. Painted in underglaze blue with a dragon chasing a flaming pearl, amongst stylized clouds. 4-character mark in underglaze blue to the base.
