ANTIQUE 19thC CHINESE QING BISCUIT PORCELAIN DRAGON MINIATURE VASE QIANLONG MARK. An antique small Chinese white biscuit porcelain onion form vase with intricate relief moulded dragon decoration within two circular panels to each side, each dragon with articulated eyes. The textured surface of the vase in between each panel is adorned with auspicious Buddhist symbols, and temple lion mask handles are attached to each side, also with articulated eyes. The upper rim is decorated with Lingzhi fungi forms, and the lower rim with stylised clouds on a textured wave surface. The base bears an impressed Qianlong mark, but it is likely 19. Or 3 7/8 inches. Or 2 1/2 inches. In good antique condition, with minor losses as expected to the porcelain, including losses to one eye of a dragon, and both eyes of one of the lion mask handles. A fabulous original 19th Century pair of Chinese armchairs which are profusely carved in a spectacular fashion. Each Armchair has a profusely carved pierced rear back panel which depicts a fiery winding Dragon which is flanked at either side by a pair of conforming dragon handrails, both of which are holding a ball like object in their mouths. The generous proportioned serpentine shaped seat has a fret carved frieze which rises above a beautiful foliate carved apron, the whole of which terminates in 4 large sturdy carved inverted legs. Of Excellent aged colouration & patina, the set are offered in overall beautiful original condition commensurate with age and are free from any damage or missing areas of carvings. There are a few very minor scuff marks to some of the leading edges of the chair frames but all of which is in perfect keeping with a genuine period set of this age and mentioned purely for accuracy. ANTIQUE 19thC CHINESE EXPORT TU MAO XING SOLID SILVER DRAGON TEA SET c. Antique 19th Century Chinese Export solid silver three piece tea set, comprising of teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug, each spherical body is beautifully applied with dragons chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom, hammered surface, each piece rests on a decorative skirted foot and. Applied with an intricately modeled dragon handles, outstanding quality. All the dragons have five claws, symbol of Imperial power. The way the sugar bowl and cream jug are made, suggests they never had lids as its often the case that Chinese sugar bowl are often covered. All pieces Hallmarked Chinese Export silver (acid tested shows a 900+ standard), Maker’s mark in Chinese for Tu Mao Xing, active in Ji? Ng, Jiangxi Province, from 1880 until 1930. This mark has been wrongly identified as Han Mao Hsing by Crosby Forbes and Kernan. The silversmith is considered one of best Chinese Export names. Ferscht correctly identified the mark and considers Tu Mao Xing one of the first silversmiths operating in. Ng and an authentic “master of dragon-making”. Please follow this link.
