Antique Chinese Kesi Kossu Dragon Panel Brocade Border Cushion Cover? Very good quality antique Chinese kesi dragon panel in the shape of a cushion cover frontal component. Blue background with gold front-facing dragon among clouds, flaming pearls, bats, and buddhist symbols. Surrounded by a wide brocade border. A pproximately 27 inches wide x 24 inches tall (including the brocade border) at the widest points. The kesi panel has several small tears and losses largely on and in the area of the bats, where small pieces of the textile are missing e. See close-up photos #4-7; there are stains on the back cloth (see photos #8-10) but they do not appear to affect the front kesi component; there are loose threads around the outside of the brocade border. Antique Tibetan ritual water bottle, elaborate flask, hand made silver and copper, 19thC Tibet, worn by Tantric Buddhist Monks and used to rinse the mouth before prayers, the red strap was embroidered in Tibet, and topped by a silver buckle with dorje design, a silver thunderbolt used in many ceremonies along with the bell, the cover for the bottle is made from recycled antique Chinese textile fragments that were donated as offerings to a temple, hand woven yellow silk brocade, 17th Century China, Late Ming Dynasty or Early Ching Dynasty, assembled in modern times, Imperial 5 claw dragon “Long”, with extended upper snout with flaring nostrils, slightly receding lower jaw, the claws are foliate, and have a three lobed design on the paw, sometimes associated with leopard spots, very round expressive goggle shaped eyes, the clouds are tri lobed and tri colored Ruyi Sceptre heads with wispy tails, the flask is in general good condition, the cover is in poor condition, strong, but worn, with restoration, stabilized on cardboard? We had the good fortune to acquire this magnificent 19th century Chinese Imperial Court Five Toed Kesi Dragon Robe constructed of blue silk brocade with colored silk and gold thread. This robe would have been hand woven for a member of the Chinese Court. If this blue is deemed to be “Imperial Blue” then the robe would have been made for the Emperor or member of the Imperial family. Bottom Width: 34″, Width across shoulders (cuff to cuff): 67″. Featuring gold Imperial five clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl among clouds, and interspersed with Buddhist “Auspicious Symbols”, along with colorful cranes, shou medallions and other symbols, above a gold swirling wave border. The black ground collar and horse shoe cuffs also with gold five claw dragons, Buddhist symbols and gold wave border. ADD ME TO YOUR. Impressive early possibly18th century Chinese cut velvet and gold metallic brocaded dragon chair cover. Inky black cut velvet that in the sunlight is very dark blue, probably indigo dye stuff. Central front facing 4 clawed dragon with flaming pearl, clouds and other Buddhist symbols with the earth and sea below, the other end with another front facing dragon. Glimmering gold metallic flat thread brocade, with scrolling tendril design on all four sides. Backed in very early silk with clouds. As found with breaks on all edges, small splits to ground scattered thruout, will need to be mounted and backed. It will arrived with acid free paper to protect and rolled carefully.
