ANTIQUE Chinese export SOLID SILVER filigree DRAGON Business/Calling card CASE. A very old & fine Chinese business/calling card case in filigree silver. The case is built with thin silver filaments attached to the contour (straight & rectangular) frame as reinforcement, meticulous swirling patterns surrounds the center facets on both upper (lid) & lower with 4 coiled dragons (of slightly different stances)riding turbulent clouds. The lid fits either way smoothly over the stylized opening on the lower part, and has a solid ovoid lozenge attached still blank, reserved for monogram/initial? Quite sturdy despite its delicate look, unmarked. 3.8″96mm H(igh) x 2.5″63mm W(ide) x 0.5mm T(hick), weighs 55gr+. All 4 dragons look good though some details could be mssing? Due to the intricate designs, it’s hard to ascertain, as well as all swirling filaments on the laterals remain intact (not so on the 2 front/largest sides with scattered small holes).
