A very good looking and well made set. Ive never seen a matched pair like this before and never with this ebonised black wash finished over a golden timber. The carving is ornate, sublime and exquisite, there is something interesting to see from every angle. These date to circa 1920 so have plenty of age related patina marks here and there, we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it all over. Depth:- 53.5cm. Seat height:- 53.5cm. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. A very good looking and decorative pair, they are small by modern standards, I would say childrens sized or very small adults, they fold away easily as you can see which is great for modern living. We have cleaned waxed and polished the suite, its mostly in perfect order apart from the right side of the desk which has some losses to the fret work carving. Height:- 65.5cm. Width:- 78.5cm. It is highly Carved and in good overall condition. The finish will need some attention as pictured and it will need to be tightened up or glued. It is sturdy right now but shows a crack in the front leg. You can come see it in person. It has very good details throughout and has the original matching chair. A FABULOUS 19thc PERIOD ANTIQUE CHINESE DRAGON CARVED EBONY PADAUK DESK ARMCHAIR. Note: We are also offering further pieces from a matching set we acquired. The piece has a profusely carved pierced rear back panel which depicts a fiery winding Dragon which is flanked at either side by a pair of conforming dragon / Lion handrails, both of which are holding a ball like object in their mouths. The generous proportioned serpentine shaped seat has a fret carved frieze which rises above a beautiful foliate carved apron, the whole of which terminates in 4 large sturdy carved inverted legs. Of Excellent aged colouration & patina, the Armchair is offered in overall beautiful original condition commensurate with age and are free from any damage or missing areas of carvings. There are a few minor scuffs to some of the leading edges of the chair frame but all in perfect keeping with a genuine piece of this age and mentioned purely for accuracy.
