This robe was designed to be worn by a high ranking person during important occasions within the Imperial court of the reigning emperor during the later years of the Qing Dynasty circa 1870s. Framed (24 x 21 inches) under glass, Very Finely Embroidered on a Silk ground with Gold, Silver and colored silk threads, A five toed Imperial Dragon chasing a flaming pearl with Bats, Clouds, Kites (one of which signed) and other unusual motifs. A fabulous framed Antique textile. On the reverse a typed card suggesting ownership by Hitler, please read, This is an Estate item and the Provenance would have to be proved by new owner. Antique Chinese Dragon Silk Embroidered Navy Blue, Floral, Abstract Kimono Robe. This beautiful kimono features embroidered floral designs as well as various abstract designs that resemble landscapes and dragons. The embroidery is done with many different colors but gold thread is mainly featured. Secondary thread colors would be blue, pink, green, and white. The edges of the sleeves are decorated with various sized pots containing flowers or bonsai trees on a white background. The bottom of the main panel has a colorful wavy pattern that ends with golden hills. Some of the embroidered threads are unraveling and slight silk shredding on the neck. There are also three semi large water stains on the inside silk. This garment can still be worn delicately or kept as a collectors item. See photos before purchasing! This piece measures as follows. Antique Qing Dynasty Dragon Richly Embroidered Silk Robe (Part). This beautiful, large, antique dragon robe is not in garment form at present, though it has signs that it was once sewn up. The fabric is silk satin, and the embroidery is silk with a metallic. On the rear, is a magenta colour, which suggests that the fabric has faded to the current apricot colour, which is quite patchy on the top side. The embroidery is in good condition. While this is not a wearable piece, it is certainly worthy of display, and no doubt steeped in history. Measures approx 6′ x 4′ 2; (around 183cm x 127cm).
