Up for your consideration is an Antique / Vintage Chinese Silk Robe. The back has one large GOLD DRAGON set amongst the clouds. The front is mostly a cloud motif and flames. The silk embroidery is exquisite using gold threads. The buttons are metal. It is in Good Condition. There are, however, some loose threads and some fading to the silk. Sleeve to sleeve (across the back) is approximately 49 wide. Back of neck to bottom is approximately 41. Sleeve opening is approximately 12 1/4. Armpit to armpit is 23. Please examine all the photos. This fine antique Chinese silk panel in blue with gold thread embroidery has two five claw dragons and two phoenix birds. Looks to be very old… I would guess it would be from the late 19th century… Not sure on age. The back lining has age spots with some small holes. The front is in excellent condition with a little discoloration on the upper right corner of the dark blue border. Part of the back lining has separated from the front bottom. This textile panel measures about 12 and 1/4″ x 25 and 1/2″. Panel looks much better in person than what my photos show. I have a hard time getting the correct color blue with my camera. ANTIQUE 19th c QI’ING DYNASTY CHINESE EMBROIDERED GAUZE SEMI- FORMAL JI’IFU DRAGON ROBE! On a blue gauze material finely embroidered 9 5- clawed dragons (the front and the back of the robe), surrounded with bats, clouds in ruyi shape, Shou signs, flaming wheels, flowers, and other Buddhist suspicious symbols. All above lishui border with rolling waves. Extremely finely worked piece- just look at the pictures! The robe measures 56 (142.2 cm) long. Condition: GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION overall with not much damages aside 2 slits on the shoulders and 1 small hole on a sleeve (see pictures, all shown). Here’s an antique Chinese summer gauze robe with dragon embroidery and gold thread. As you can see from the photos there is some fraying at one shoulder and a bit near the neckline, one sleeve needs a bit of re-sewing and I find a few other small areas that need attention. Overall a spectacular and quite old summer court official robe with auspicious symbols. Armpit to armpit laid flat is 26″ inches across, sleeves from neckline are 40 1/2″ and length is 54.
