NESE SILVER FOOTED VASE, DRAGON/TIGER. CUM WO, HONG KONG C. This well ornamented Chinese vase is marked to the underside of the base with CW and Chinese character marks. This is the mark of t. Were retail silversmiths trading from premises on Queens Road, Hong Kong, a prime pos. Ition opposite the busy waterfront. They were in business from. 920 and were known for their. Great attention to detail. The vase dates to the late nineteenth century. This vase is of cylindrical form, supported by an unusual dragon. Stem above a plain silve. Has been ornamented using repousse and chased techniques in traditional Chinese style. The top step of the foot has a large beaded border which surrounds the base of the figural stem. The central area contains a three-dimensional traditional representation of waves, composed of disk-shaped elements. A figural dragons head surrounds the short stem, resting upon the waves below. The body of the vase depicts a tiger standing on the ground, looking up at the dragon. It is rare to find a depiction of a tiger on Chinese silver from this period. The tiger is one of the animals in the Chinese zodiac and this probably indicates that either the vase was made in the year of the tiger, which occurred in 1890 and 1902. Chinese Censer with Ming Xuande marking. An antique footed Censer with handles from China with marking on underside. Decorated with Dragon motif on main body, Greek Key pattern just below rim, Leaves on outside surface of handles. Bronze / copper metal construction, not attracted by magnet. It measures 71mm from bottom of foot to rim. Handles add another 32mm in height. The rim is 101mm in diameter (to outside edge). 120mm in diameter at widest point. Antique Chinese Export Footed Silver Dragon Box Wang Ming Signed

This is an antique Wang Hing footed silver box. Box top and sides are heavily decorated including dragons on lid. Box has a well- fitted hinged lid. Box measures 3 ” W X 4 1/4 ” L X 1 3/4 H excluding legs. Height with legs is about 2 1/8. Box is stamped and engraved on bottom. Stamps include HW and 90, indicating purity. Script engraving reads , Singapore Golf Club , Handicap Competition Dec. 1900 , Won by Mrs. Weight is 260 grams. Box is in very good condition EXCEPTING one of the dragon feet is missing 1 of 4 horns (see in last image). Horns are not attached to box side. Should be an easy fix for a jeweler / silversmith.
