Antique Late 18th Chinese Finely Carved Lacquered Chair W/Dragon Scrolled Splat. Very unusual form, delicately carved antique Chinese lacquered elm chair with mortise and tenon construction. The finely carved chair has a back splat with dragon and dramatic scrolled back. The chair is in good, sturdy condition with only isolated loss of lacquer. The chair is extremely heavy for its size at approximately 43 pounds. The measurements are approximately 41″ tall x 21″ wide x 16.5 deep. Rare and very nice plate with a 4 clawed dragon in flight scene. He is among the clouds/ruyi. Two concentric circles at the base. The dragon is the mightiest of creatures, master of rain and water and usually good-natured. It has a prestigious place in the astrological years and serves as a symbol principally of the Emperor and therefore the top of the pyramid of animals. Antique Chinese famille rose Dragon and Phoenix cup / bowl, Late Qing Dynasty. A very beautiful and detailed decorated Dragon & Phoenix cup / bowl. I estimate the bowl being from the end of the Qing Dynasty, probably Guangxu period. The cup is decorated with Phoenix which represents the empress and Dragon which represents the emperor, in the middle is the flying pearl. Note: Wooden stand is not included in this sale! Checked with UV Light. No hairline no restoration. One small nick to the top rim and one nick to the foot. Some wear to the paint. Some small paint residue. Late Qing Chinese’Gold Thread’ Embroidery Sleeve Panels. Delicately Embroidered with Couched Gold Thread on a Blue Silk Ground. I believe them to be a pair of’Sleeve Panels’ stitched together for display purposes. Depicting 5-Toed Dragon and Phoenix amongst Clouds above Rocks & Waves. Late 19thC, Qing Dynasty. The frame measures 52cm x 20cm. Excellent condition with no visible damage, preserved under glass. Framed and ready to hand. Very beautiful antique Chinese silk robe decorated with 13 dragons in total. The robe is possible a custom made robe dating early 1900/ or late 19th Century. The robe background is a cream color with brocade roundels. Entire robe is decorated with vibrant green dragons surrounded by clouds and other auspicious designs. There is no major damage only signs of age and little areas of stains. The robe measures app. 66 inches sleeve to sleeve and 52 inches long.
