A very good looking and decorative pair of hand carved circa 1900 horse shoe back armchairs with a Savonarola x framed base. These two are a fine example, they look like they would have had some kind of rattan on the seat base originally due to the holes, I dont know if the timer is a later addition or if they exactly as they are supposed to be as Ive never seen another pair like this before. What I can say is the carving is very high quality, its ornate, the back splat has a very jolly looking Chinese dancer on, the arm ends are as mentioned dragons and the rest of the frame has a floral feel to it. In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished them from top to bottom, they have a lovely warm glow to them. Depth:- 52.5cm. There are around 50-100 high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page. A very good looking and well made pair, hand carved from what looks like solid teak and then layered and layered with lacquer. These are the largest of their type I have ever seen, they perfectly match in carving so have the same large dragon on one side the bird on the other. The patina is lovely, they are free from cracks or any serious damage although naturally due to the age they do have some fair wear. We have cleaned waxed and polished them on the outside. Antique or Vintage 9 Chinese Cloisonne Pair Vases Imperial Dragon Flaming Pearl

This pair of early 20th century cloisonne vases is not from the Grandma Tran collection. I remember my mom spending a lot of time hunting them down and agreeing on a price from the person she bought them from! They are very similar in design with an Imperial five clawed dragon and the flaming pearl on each vase. The two dragons are opposite each other so they can face towards each other or away from each other. There is extensive damage/repair to both vases. The vase pictured on the right in the main picture has three areas of significant repair. Two are on the sides and one is on the base. The vase on the left has two areas, one on the side and one on the base. The color matching is pretty good. In place of the wires, gold paint has replaced the wires in the repaired spots. Please study the photos carefully. I can send more upon request. There is also an un-repaired small ding on one of the vases. The upper and lower rims of the vase on the left in the main picture are bent. In spite of all these flaws, these vases make a strong impression and appear to be much older than they actually are. Based upon what I have learned they are likely from the early part of the 20th century, made in China for export. The cylindrical shape of the vase body is different from most of the curved vases for sale. Thank you for supporting Catholic Charities! They are hand painted with a double four claw dragon design chasing the flaming pearl amongst floral designs. They measure a 13.5cm in height with and are marked to the base with a four character mark. They are both in very good condition and have no chips, cracks or restoration although there is slight grit to the rim of one which leads to a barely noticeable hairline but these really are minor and are mentioned purely for accuracy.
