Antique Chinese Famille Rose Enamel Bowl. The design depicts Chinese men on a Foo-Lion (foo-dog), horse, camel, tiger (on the inside of the bowl). The design depicts Chinese men on an elephant, deer, ox (bull) , and another creature with a dragon head (on the outside of the bowl). Measures 3 5/8 tall. Measures 10 3/8 across the top. Weighs 2 1/4 lbs (Prior to Packaging). There is a small repair along the underside of the rim (3/4 sliver chip). The area of repair also has a very faint tiny hairline. There is some separation of the enamel along the inside. Some general wear along the inside bottom of the yellow medallion (See Pics). Be sure to scroll down to view all of the pics. Auctions is pleased to offer for sale a rare and gorgeous antique Chinese Compound Cabinet. It is beautifully crafted from rose wood – one of the rarest and most sought after of hardwoods – and originates from Hebei Province in China, which was renowned for cabinets with ornate carved decoration made during the Qing dynasty. Chinese cabinets were functional objects as well as works of art and came in various shapes, sizes, forms, and designs to hold a variety of objects, often in pairs symbolizing double-happiness. When a small chest is stacked on top of a regular-sized cabinet – or when two units of equal or different sizes are stacked on top of each other – the combination is collectively known as a compound cabinet. This fine compound cabinet is. Square-cornered with four doors, and features intricately carved auspicious symbols, including the legendary Chinese dragon. It is a showcase example of Chinese furniture distinguished by the beauty of the material and the simplicity of form reduced to flowing smooth lines and simple, extremely well constructed joinery. The measurements are 59.5 inches in length by 19.25 inches deep by 104.5 inches in height (151.1 cm by 48.8 cm by 265.4). It is in very good used condition, with wear consistent to a dating to the late mid-19th century. Importantly, it is an intact, original piece. It has a fine provenance coming from an important U. Up for sale is a large antique Chinese famille rose globular form vase. Finely and brightly enamelled with two shaped cartouches enclosing a dragon and a phoenix, reserved on an yellow ground with bats, peach sprays and Shou medallions. Each side with dragon handles and bottom with six character Qianlong seal mark. Very clean and enamelling. Also rich and sharp. Found an exact vase (mirror image vase) was offered at Bonhams London in 2008, please see images. 21 3/4″ (51 1/2 cm) high X 44 1/2″ (113 cm) circumference. It is in very good condition except one handle has a crack and glue enhanced at some point. A small chip to the mouthrim and flakes to enamel to handles.
