CHINESE EXPORT SILVER BOWL c1885 LUENWO – DRAGONS A fine and very rare c1885 Chinese export silver dragon handle and panel footed bowl or jardiniere. From the well listed shop of Luenwo. In raised rectangular form with hand carved battling dragons amidst clouds, set within pierced panel. Framed in solid silver flowering prunus tree atop rich stippled surfaces. Like satin to the touch. Boldly cast arched back, full body dragon handles. Atop faux bamboo legs. This Luenwo Chinese silver bowl is 10 3/4 inches across handles and 6 1/4 across longest rims and 22 1/2 standard ounces. In very fine condition. Rich silver patina, retains original detail. This service comprises: a teapot, a coffee pot, sugar bowl and cream/milk jug. This tea and coffee service is one of the very best we have ever encountered – the quality of decoration is quite phenomenal! The pieces depict two dragons applied to the bodies with the bodies of the beasts disappearing and reappearing from clouds and facing up to each other. The hinged covers to the tea and coffee pots have a dragons head finial that belong to the chased dragons bodies on the covers. The handles and spouts are cleverly formed as bamboo with insulators to protect the user from heat. The cream jug and sugar bowl are both gilt (gold-wash) to the interiors. Old Chinese Sterling Silver Dragon Overlay Glass Bottle Decanter
Old Chinese Sterling Dragon motif Silver Overlay Bottle. There are no cracks to the glass but I do see some areas of the silver overlay raised/loose from the glass a bit. I do not believe this to be damage as it is seen in all three corners, it seems to have been made in that manner. I do see that at the neck of the bottle the silver is also a bit raised from the glass. There is also some wear to the cork on the stopper. I have added images so please revise them for accuracy. Marked “STERLING” to the bottom. Darkening to the Silver as shown, I will not attempt to clean, will leave that up to the new owner as I do not wish to remove the patina acquired. Height: 9 1/4 including the stopper. Width: 4 3/4 inches. The last image was taken from the top to better describe the shape. CHINESE EXPORT SILVER TEA SET c1890 SIGNED – DRAGON HANDLES & SPOUT A rare four piece Chinese export silver dragon handle and spout tea service. Unique swirl fluted globe form with rolling wave edge base. The fluted panels with hand carved warriors in battle, dragon and various fruit and floral scenes. The work is beautifully detail. Each piece with decoration different from the others. Teapot cover retains the original raised dragon head finial and inverted dragon head spout. Each piece with fully cast and detailed arched back dragon handles. This late 19th century dragon handle teapot is 10 inches and the complete four piece set weighs 33 1/2 standard ounces. Rich silver patina, retains near original detail. The teapot finial has been re-attached, the tongs with one tendril missing from dragon. The set sells world wide.
