THIS LISTING IS FOR A LOVELY PAIR OF 19th CENTURY CHINESE CLOISONNE ON BRONZE DRAGON VASES. THIS NICE PAIR OF VASES HAVE AN UNUSUAL COLORATION FEATURING DARK BROWN AND BLACK FIVE TOED DRAGONS ON EACH SIDE OF A FLAMING PEARL ON BEIGE BACKGROUND. INTRICATE “CLOUD” CLOISONNE WIRE WORK. VASES MEASURE 6 3/4″ HIGH WITH A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 3 1/4″, A TOP OPENING OF 1 3/4″ IN DIAMETER WITH A 1 7/8″ DIAMETER BASE. COMBINED WEIGHT IS 8 OUNCES. BOTH VASES ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION ALTHOUGH ONE HAS A SMALL AREA WITH SOME MISSING ENAMEL (SEE PHOTOS). NO OTHER NOTED DAMAGE TO THE PAIR. Antique mid-19th Century Chinese solid silver vase, made for the Chinese market, applied with dragons on textured ground, the body decorated with birds perched on grapevine. The vase is of good traditional size and features stunning workmenship. The base decorated with lotus leafs and terminating with a slender trumpet shaped neck. VERY OLD CHINESE OR KOREAN HELMET MADE OF COPPER WITH ENGRAVED DRAGONS AND FLOWERS, TOPPED WITH A BRASS SPIKE MOUNT WHICH SUPPOSE TO HOLD THE PLUME OR FEATHERS. Dating is hard as it has elements from late Qing up to Republic 1920s 30s. Large piece 88 inches from sleeve to sleeve 50 inches from top of collar to bottom and flair is 44 inches wide. Vermeer is literally a famous figure when it comes to Chinese ceramics starting his career in the late 1960s in his early 20s. With close to 50 years experience Mr. Vermeer was thought by many to be one of the worlds top Chinese ceramic experts and authorities. Over the years Mr. I believe this is one of our finest sales to date featuring many of the choice and most important examples from the collection. The vessel is intricately carved throughout with great figural designs. The vessel is in good intact condition as seen. This week Chamberlain Antiques is pleased to offer over 250+ lots of fine Asian antiques and works of art. Included in the sale is an impressive collection of Chinese porcelains, bronzes, jades, paintings, and other works of art. 99 with NO RESERVE. Thank you for looking and good luck!!! The vase is decorated around the body in underglaze blue and red with dragons and flames all done in relief flying around small roundels each containing scenes of figures within a landscape. The detail int he work is exception as can be seen in the photos. The underside is marked in the center and the foot rim reveals a smooth snow white paste. It appears that the vase was cut down at some point but displays well as can be seen in the photos. In addition there are some shallow chips and a couple lines extending from the rim. Finally there is a scratch through the mark on the base. A very unusual piece of Chinese porcelain from the Kangxi period. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Many of the items we sell are well over 100 years old. Inherently, these items will have some minor or light wear. Any major flaws and damages ie. This listing is for an unusual Chinese porcelain vase dating to the 19th century or earlier. The vase displays a thickly applied pale celadon glaze done over relief design around the exterior of the vase. The body with two dragons on each side and the neck displaying bats surrounding a central shou character flanked by chilong and ring handes. It stands 11.6 inches (29.5cm) tall and is in excellent condition with no damage. There are a few firing lines on the foot that are not damage and occurred in the making. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. Antique Chinese 19th Century Bronze Censer Carved Dragon Design UNUSUAL MARK There are some old repairs to the base which are visible from the inside and from the underside. (Please see the pics provided) Apart from this it is in good vintage condition. It has an unusual mark to the base, which is of very good quality. The censer has been gilded, but most of this has worn off. BEAUTIFULLY CARVED DRAGON DESIGN / FANTASTIC FORM / UNUSUAL MARK It measures approx 17.8cm in diameter x 12.8cm tall and is very heavy.
