WONDERFUL ANTIQUE SET CHINESE EXPORT SILVER 6 CUPS & SAUCERS DRAGON DECOR 1880. Ornate antique set of Chinese export silver cups and saucers – Canton province, circa 1880. The main motif on both cups and saucers, is a Deeply chased, highly detailed pair of Dragons – very dramatic 3-dimensional depiction of 4-claw dragons chasing the heavenly pearl – on the cups the dragon heads meet on both side of a shield-shaped monogram plate. The saucers with a large Chinese character at the center with 2 dragons chasing each other around the rim. The cups with an UNUSUAL snake handle, finely depicted with a swirled tail, their heads pick over the rim. Condition is excellent for the age – no losses, dents or repairs – a minor, general age ware – please view detailed pictures. Each cup is 9.3 cm wide including handle – mouth diameter is 6.5 cm and the height is 7.5 cm – each saucer is 12.3 cm in diameter – the total combined weight is 767.5 grams.
