Late Qing Export Silver Footed Plate (LQS091501). 19th century Late Qing Dynasty Solid silver, purity of at least. 925 Diameter: 22.5 cm / 8.85 in Height: 3.7 cm Weight: 332 grams From a Porto, Portugal private collection An impressively crafted 19th century late Qing Chinese export silver footed plate, engraved in the center with a confident rendering of a sinuous dragon, and bordered with a marvelous pierced/reticulated cavetto featuring dragons amongst clouds. The silver workmanship is virtuosic in its attention to detail– even the scales of the dragon are shown in crisp relief. The back is marked a “changtai” maker’s mark. Condition: Generally good antique condition. Some age-related surface wear and scratches (especially at the back). The plate front has a 1 cm indented scratch. There are no repairs or structural damage. Please examine all photos carefully, as they are part of the condition report. We guarantee our items to be authentic and correctly dated.
