Antique Chinese 19th Century Kesi Imperial Nine Dragon Robe Fabric Framed Silk Qing Dynasty. Fabulous Hand Embroidered Silk Robe It was once owned by a member of the Imperial Chinese Court from the period of the 1700s to 1800s. The Flying Golden Dragons chasing the Flaming Pearl indicate Royalty. The Blue Color was reserved for Minor Princes or Noblemen. The illustration of the Crane indicates that its wearer held a High Civil Office. The piece incorporates an intricate, rich brown floral pattern silk border as well as paired, united segments of the fine artistry in silk with golden thread embroidery and interweaving of multiple themes including clouds, water, cranes, dragons and various other symbolic figures. The fabric has rich color and is in excellent condition with several areas showing damage that has been repaired. Dimensions: 32″ wide x 25.5″ tall. The framed portion of the textile incorporates the most visually stunning segments of what was once a complete robe. Includes exquisite antique Art Deco Black Lacquer Frame with Gilded Fascia. Antique Chinese Kesi Kossu Dragon Panel Brocade Border Cushion Cover? Very good quality antique Chinese kesi dragon panel in the shape of a cushion cover frontal component. Blue background with gold front-facing dragon among clouds, flaming pearls, bats, and buddhist symbols. Surrounded by a wide brocade border. A pproximately 27 inches wide x 24 inches tall (including the brocade border) at the widest points. The kesi panel has several small tears and losses largely on and in the area of the bats, where small pieces of the textile are missing e. See close-up photos #4-7; there are stains on the back cloth (see photos #8-10) but they do not appear to affect the front kesi component; there are loose threads around the outside of the brocade border. Antique Chinese Kesi 5-Clawed Dragon Roundel or Rank Badge. This fragile antique Chinese rank badge features a front-facing, 5-clawed dragon made of gold wrapped thread. The tiny-eyed bats are barely discernible from the clouds while the dragon’s eyes are unavoidably pronounced. The latter is due to the fact that the eye’s have been enhance with with black silk floss satin stitch embroidering. This piece has damage toward the bottom (see photo) and random loose threads.
