Colourful silk fabric, gold threads and silk. China, Qing Dynasty, approx. 18th to early 19th C. A very rare ceremonial outer garment of a high official, as it holds five clawed dragons. It is entirely and very elaborately woven in real kesi technique and offers a large dragon above ocean waves and rocks, in the chest area. On the shoulders likewise, and smaller renditions on the seams of the short sleeves. The dominant pattern consists of clouds, which have the form of ruyi heads of the dignity sceptre. Fluttering between them are bats; there are also red wan-symbols (swastika, together meaning “immensely long life”) as well as flowers and objects from the Babao (the “eight precious things”). On the back, the depiction is the same as on the front. Original gold yellow silk lining on the inside. Traces of wear and small faults and repairs due to age mostly near the sleeves. Overall in rarely found good condition. The item that you see is the item that you get. This is some eBayer’s good luck because it has been relisted without any reserve! Century Chinese Embroidered Silk Panel properly framed. It is mounted on silk and comes in a deep 30 ¼” by 39″ wood frame. The embroidery measures 24 ¼” tall by 33″ long and depicts a golden dragon embroidered with metallic threads. Along the bottom edge are the waves of an ocean and there are clouds flowers and bats flying around the sky. In the close up photographs you can see some separation to the silk in the upper left hand corner. There also are some loose metallic threads at the top of the dragons head. VERY FINE ANTIQUE CHINESE STERLING SILVER DRAGON LOTUS FIGURAL BASKET BOWL DISH. Listed this week is an amazing collection of Sterling, Solid Silver and Silver Plate from all over the world. Plus Session 2 of our Estate Jewelley collection, including many Solid Gold items! Even the bail handle is finely pierced with beautiful Bamboo and Floral designs. 99 with lots closing the evening of Monday, April 18th. This listing is for a fine quality Chinese silver covered box dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The box in rectangular form is decorated around the exterior with beautiful and highly detailed dragons done in relief. The interior is lined with a dark hardwood and is marked by the maker Zee Sung on the underside. It measures 6.7 x 3.7 x 2.2 inches. Condition is very good, just needs a polishing. In addition, all questions must be asked at least 12 hours prior to a lot closing. This allows us time to inspect the item and take additional photos if needed. The textile is most likely a section of a larger original textile and depicts dragons in flight surrounded by stylized clouds and other objects. Along the bottom edge is a rockery and stylized waves with additional dragons above. It has been framed under glass and measures 50 x 23 inches overall. There is some losses and deterioration to the fabric in spots as can be seen in the photos. It has not been viewed out the frame.
